Spithill Ready To Take On Team New Zealand

There is no doubt one will get to witness one of the greatest final battles in the America’s Cup this season.

Jimmy Spithill is heading the Oracle Team USA after about four years and he is looking to bring the America Cup home this season. In order to win the cup, he will have to wade off the tough challenge posed by the Emirates Team New Zealand.

The last time that Team USA and Team New Zealand met in an America’s Cup final was recorded to be one of the most remarkable comebacks of a team in the history of the America’s Cup. This happened in September 2013 during the 34th edition of the America’s Cup when Spithill and his team were able to defy the serious threat from the New Zealand team to win the event.

This time the Bermuda’s Great Sound will witness the tough finals and everyone who lives the sailing sport is looking forward to this big tussle. Spithill said that everyone is going to see one of the best sporting events of this year in Bermuda over the past two years. He said that the two teams have the best boats suited for the race and also the best crew members. Both the teams are motivated for the final race and are very excited about it.

Spithill and his team have had the upper hand over the New Zealand team in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup qualifiers that was held for the last two weeks. The slight advantage is with the Team USA side and this could be the deciding factor at the end of the final race. New Zealand will be starting the final race on -1 point and the USA will be entering the race with 0 points. The first team to reach 7 points will be the winner of the America’s Cup.
